Olubunmi and Dami’s love story is filled with excitement and fun. We love their different version of their amazing story. “Dami has an awesome personality, he is so down to earth, he gives me his shoulder to lean on. He is a good leader, extremely romantic, great listener, my butty (tush) boo *lol*. He makes me laugh my brain out, cheers me up when I’m down, encourages me, stands by me, makes me smile sooo easily and above all he makes me feel like a real woman”, says Olubunmi.
HOW WE MET
I was chatting with an older friend of mine, Sola Adewumi one afternoon and he said “it’s dangerous for a fine girl to be alone, makes her too vulnerable. There are good guys out there and I’ll find you one”. I was shocked as he sounded really excited to help and he asked for my specs, trust me now *wink* I gave him all. He said he was going to get back to me.
Sola buzzed two days after and sent Dami’s pictures and I had this look on my face like *he is cute but young* And I asked ‘why is he so young’ he told me not to get deceived by the young look that he is way older than he looks. I had to ask for his age mehn, no time for surprises and Sola told me, I was like ‘woooowwwww’. Then Sola said “Bunmi, here is the deal. I would give Dami your pin, tell him to add you and say he stole your pin from my phone” and I was like that is so super cool. *lol*. So Dami sent a request and I accepted, I buzzed first and he started saying how he stole my pin from my friend and all. I was just there laughing at him then I munched that part of the chat and sent to Sola.. Dami and I got chatting and we connected so well and then I found myself always giggling when we chat and one day I had to tell myself “Bunmi calm down”. We agreed to see on the Saturday of the week he added me, I told him I was going to work and then to the salon, we concluded he was going to come to the salon to see me. Later that evening at the salon, I buzzed him and asked if he was still coming only for him to reply that he was almost home….God I almost fainted, see me waiting for this dude since forever…
Hmmm anyway that’s how Dami made a U-turn, he came to meet me at the salon. He parked outside and called me to come out.
So the ghen ghen part *lol* I walked out of the salon with my hair done half way, I raised my head up and saw this tall dark and extremely cute guy smiling and standing by his car, gosshhhhh my heart melted but trust me now, I did not let all that show o! I went to him, gave him a side hug, a broad smile and we started talking.
I was just there blushing, and he kept staring at my sandals, he said he likes it.*yayyyii*
He did not spend much time with me because I had to go back to finish my hair. So we hugged again, this time it was a full hug *lol*. He buzzed me when he got home and requested for a picture of my hair. *oh no* not with my oilly face, I took the picture and sent to him. He admired my hair, said it was really nice. *blushing*
The next day we agreed to see after my meeting. He came to pick me up at KFC Allen and we went to Bheerhugz with another friend of his. It was so much fun, I had enough time to look at him wellllllllll, his smile, dentition and eyes. We spoke at length, we laughed a lot, we had a great evening. He dropped me off at home and left for his place.
So he buzzed to tell me he was home and then the magic started. Dami said he really likes me and in my mind I was like *dude calm down* I was really shocked, it’s not like I did not feel the same way but it was just too soon to assume I like him. I just kept saying “thank you”.
We got talking a lot, we connected, we shared things, we laughed together, we saw once to twice a week, we did spontaneous things together and now we are here *lol*. I bless the day we met, he has been indeed a blessing to me. The way he looks at me is just so different, he tickles my fancy and yesss he makes me laugh a lot. *wink*
I got home after a quite busy day and quite unusual of me I did not check through my BBM all through while I drove home and as a bachelor, while thinking of what to make for dinner, I picked up my phone and got a message from a married friend who I hold in very high regard “Dami… are you still single!” I was shocked to have seen this from ‘Sola Adewunmi. Though I was enjoying my single status I reluctantly replied with a Yes on the ground of let me see what Sola is up to and next thing was I want you to meet a friend, there was a big grin on my face and just like every normal guy I replied with send me her picture, he sent about 4 of her pictures and told me she is a youth corper, and some other sweet qualities, this was sometime in March/April 2013.
Mehn… seeing Olubunmi’s picture that night was dinner already and as a go-getter that I am I pulled a call through to Sola immediately… no time, to get all details and Sola said I would have to tell her I saw her picture on his phone and stole her BBM PIN. At this point, I sighed and knew that was impossible for me… HABA now! A whole me, steal a BBM PIN.
Sola insisted that I should do that and I refused, but he went on to convince me and still as a go-getter, I added Olubunmi up that night and we got talking. I think it was a Wednesday and surprisingly, she did not react as I told her I got her BBM PIN from ‘Sola’s phone. I was surprised anyways, but little did I know it was all planned.
We went on talking all through the week and as a correct Lagos boy ***smiles*** before Saturday we were already talking like we met years ago.
I finally saw Olubunmi on the Saturday of that same week at a salon in Omole, Lagos, I am sure she can remember the date and time, and I was in the company of my friend ‘Kunle Samuel, I was in my car and called her out of the salon; she came out without delay with her hair not fully done ***I gave her thumbs up for that*** in a short dress and a NEXT sandal I stepped out and gave her a hug (felt like heaven) and I could not just take my eye off her legs because it was too clean and fresh and despite my fight to resist the Yoruba movie clips and stories from older married people we left her after some minutes and the first thing I said to Kunle after I was silent for about 3 minutes was “Baba! That is my wife” and that was what I saw Olubunmi as all through while we were friends.
And finally, God has brought us to this stage where we have decided to spend the rest of our life together as husband and wife.
Olubunmi Mi, like I fondly call her is an incomparable lady, in beauty, spirituality, wisdom, character and attitude. Without any iota of psyches she is simply awesome. I can soooo remember the first time I set my eyes on her pictures my jaw was literally going to drop thanks to the fact that I had discovered at a point in my life I have thing for fair babes which Olubunmi stood out in and speaking with her just confirmed the beauty and brains line. I know I always argued this with her but truth is Olubunmi loves me more; she can care for me to stupor. The huge part I love most about her is her extreme playfulness which I cannot wait to keep seeing 70 years from now and then I can compare her being toothless and now with teeth ***dodges stone***
We have had our rough times where I just exhibit my naughty self and her approach at these times is simply mind blowing.
A coded part about Olubunmi that nobody can ever notice is the fact that, she is very rugged, forget the beauty. She is not about always having a car/cab to go with or having me to drop her always, and this is an attribute that trips me a lot.
If you wanna make Olubunmi smile, do 3 things:
i. Play John Legend’s All of me for her.
ii. Show her a movie where they kissed all through.
iii. Take her to coldstone.
If you want to know more about her, you sure can either do 2 things
i. Visit us after our honeymoon
ii. Host us to a dinner and we can talk ourselves out

Hmm Oluwadamilola… the number one person that has my mumu button, my fashionista. The sweetest person I know. The best thing that ever happened to me. *blushing*
Dami has an awesome personality, he is so down to earth, he gives me his shoulder to lean on. He is a good leader, extremely romantic, great listener, my butty (tush) boo *lol* Gossshhhhh Dami can form tush for Africa, he loves gist ehn, he wants to hear it from start to finish, he is extremely detailed that it sometimes gets to me *picksrace*
He’s the best for a million reasons (not the least of which is putting up with me) *wink*
He makes me laugh my brain out, cheers me up when I’m down, encourages me, stands by me, makes me smile sooo easily and above all he makes me feel like a real woman.
The Beautiful Proposal
Yaaaayyy!!! Another interesting phase of our relationship and at least I can remember the date … Lol 28th December, 2013. I had been to Spicy Route Bar like some months before this day for a team bonding exercise and had pinned down the venue as the ideal place to propose to my baby.
Getting Olubunmi’s finger size took me about 3 months as her size seems to change weekly; the process was quite interesting tho, because I did not want to give her a clue I informed her best friend, about my intentions, told a few of my friends and our favorite couple Sayo & Kemi Owolabi and they were all in the private lounge before our grand arrival and yea… my pretty Oyinkansola Owolabi was also there.
Now to the story, I had informed Olubunmi like 3 weeks before of a friend’s birthday on 28th December and would want us to be there, and quite unlike me because she’s a power dresser also, I kept on asking what she will be wearing and at a point she got all worried like Dude!!! Why the questions and why is this birthday that important and at this point I took a chill at talking about the day.
Then the day came, I picked her up, we got going and I asked what’s her imagination for a proposal and she said “Baby… just surprise me” and I smiled, then I got calls from friends at the venue already and I was trying to be as discreet as possible in my conversations and she got worried again and said why is everyone calling you and I was like I am part of the organizer of the party and she was surprised but still did not have a clue and at that point I stopped picking calls because my friend Jide Jewoola was already the RSVP.
We got to the venue, and the very romantic me already gave the plot that everyone should be behind the banner in the private lounge, we walked in and she fell in love with the lounge and she sighted the banner with our picture and the inscription “Olubunmi, will you marry me”. She was shocked and could not hold her tears and asked who are the people behind the banner, I told them to show themselves and she was literally going to run away, I held her hand, hugged her, kissed her on her forehead, went on my knees with one leg and asked Olubunmi! Will you marry me and she said YES!!!
