Photographer Delia Blackburn captured an incredible moment of love and respect recently while photographing the wedding of Brittany and Jeremy Peck. Posting the photos on her Facebook page, they soon picked up momentum, and now have over a million likes!
At the September 26th wedding, all was seemingly status quo. That is, until the father of the bride, Todd Bachman stopped the bridal procession only halfway down the aisle.
To everyone’s complete shock, Bachman grabbed the hand of Brittany’s stepfather, and brought him to aisle, so they could continue to walk their daughter to her groom, together. As a family.
The photographer writes “there wasn’t a dry eye in the ceremony” and we can sure see why. She continues, “Families are what we make them…make it about your kids and not your ego. Congratulations Todd Bachman on showing your kids what true love really is…love for your children.”
Proving that families come in all different shapes and sizes, this one clearly figured out how to make it work, and raise their beautiful daughter with love and mutual respect.
As a father, walking your daughter down the aisle is one you will share, and remember for the rest of time. Coming together for their daughter, on her special day is something she will never forget. In such a selfless act, she can be proud of her dad, for giving her such a wonderful gift.
We love when stories of happiness and kindness take over the internet and air waves, as so often it’s flooded with news of hate and despair. Please keep this story moving, and SHARE it with your friends and family. It only takes a moment to make someone smile, who knows who might need it today!
